At the tender age of 10 Stephanie (Kelly) Ankner knew what she wanted to do in life either as a profession or as a hobby.She at her young age wanted to be a writer when others her age wanted to be a rock star, doctor or actress and or actor.She was so passionate about it and wanted to follow in her grandmother's footsteps. Her Grandmother also wrote poetry as a child and teen for her school paper and had numerous poems published in books. Stephanie decided she wanted to write children's books,songs,children songs and work for writing tv and movies .This is where it all started and she never stopped. You can always bet that where ever Stephanie went she had pens and paper with her.
When she was just 13 she started entering poetry contest from the back of magazines and newspapers and by 14 she had her first one published called "Sin".
She is now at 14 was considered a published author of poetry and since that has had many published in a wide variety of anthologies. She also has had done from Five Star Music Masters, a poem she wrote turned in music and has sheet music on it. For many years she just wrote and wrote poetry and encouraged alot of family and friends to try it. Although most of them didn't take to writing she continued to do so. As she got older and busier with High school and work she slowed down on writing alot.
Then in 1997 she started writing again because of her boyfriend whom is now her husband inspired her and encouraged her to get back into it and even do more.Stephanie is truely a unique individual and is so passionate about her writings, However she first said when she started writing.." I am writing for me and what I feel and how I feel, This is the way I see things in life! If someone out there does not like my style of writing then that is truely ok with me. I will never be upset or disappointed in my work. If someone out there does not like or does not understand the meaning of any of work, they can at anytime ask me and I will explain.Most importantly I write for me" and as long as I understand it then I am ok with it all.
Stephanie never made no excuses for what she wrote and how she wrote it, She was not looking for acceptance as she felt poetry writing was more personal then any other writing there is. She coninued to write for the next few years.
In 2003 family life came along and she slowed down once again in writing to care for her new baby.She still coninuted to write but not as often or as much. Few years ago she came back stronger then every and took a new direction she always wanted to take. No more poetry, time to move on to the next chapter "SONGWRITING" . However she can be sound still writing a poem on occasion and for a Local Nursing Facilty Newsletter. From that comeback, she started pumping out song lyrics one after another. To her name she has almost 200 songs in all genre's and more to come as she writes everyday. She can be found on many songwriting forums and directories on the internet. She spends alot of time on Songwriter101.Stephanie posts her lyrics to be critqued in the websites Lyric Library and gets comments from songwriters from all over. Stephanie has made many friends along the way and credits them for the helpful information and the encouragment they show her,They taught her alot and she taught them alot. Stephanie famously says '' I am a non professional songwriter looking for my big break with a dream that just won't die''.
Although she is not signed with any record label or music publisher she can be found at anytime looking and doing collabrations with other unisgned artist and producers and preformers. Stephanie is registered with BMI in 2007, a Preforming Rights Organzation under her own name. She continues to search for reasons and ways to just be heard as a person by a single A&R Rep from a Major Record Label.If there is one thing i can assure you about Stephanie is her passion to write a hit song for a major record label. She will never give up, even if it never happens.Stephanie will not quit. Simply noted!.
Stephanie has also helped friends and other fellow songwriters with lines, verses or ideas and even inspiration for their own work. She is kind hearted, thoughtful, helpful.
