Canadian singer-songwriter Steve Holt has for many years had an international reputation as one of Canada’s leading pianists, and his 1983 debut album "The Lion's Eyes" won critical acclaim around the world and was nominated for a JUNO Award (Canadian Grammy). Since then Steve has recorded 5 albums and performed with many of the legendary names in music. Last year Steve made a dramatic change of direction to adult contemporary music. He studied voice with Bill Vincent and emerged in 2002 as a remarkable vocalist and songwriter, releasing his 6th record The Dream, produced by Darius Szczepaniak (Barenaked Ladies, Jann Arden, Chantal Kreviazuk). The CD features Steve as vocalist, songwriter, and pianist… and the reviews have been great. “Steve Holt aptly proves himself as an expressive, genuine songwriter with a flair for human emotion and an understated ability to provoke Real Thought in the listener,” writes Steve Rickman at CanEHdian.com. “There really isn't a bad cut on the disc and several are just plain exceptional,” writes Dan Brisebois, at Canadianbands.com. Steve Holt was awarded an Honorable Mention at the 2002 USA Songwriting Competition.
